Xavier's fate in Days of Future Past could foreshadow X-Men:Apocalypse

Today with Entertainment Weekly, director Bryan Singer sat down with the magazine to discuss his upcoming work in the X-Men Franchise. While the director's next big film, X-Men: Days of Future Past, EW also discussed the next installment in the franchise: X-Men: Apocalypse. While the film is far from going into production, Singer did explain what he is hoping to accomplish in the 2016 film:

“It will also address historical mutant-cy, meaning the deep past, mutant origins and things like that. It’s something that’s always intrigued me when we think about our Gods and our history and miracles and powers.”

This idea would no doubt be interesting to see from the X-Men franchise, but there was something else that caught my attention. In the interview, Singer was asked about whether or not fans would get a preview to Apocalypse in post-credit scene for Days of Future Past. While the director is still considering it, he did mention something else:

“Something that happens in this movie causes what’s going to happen in that movie.”

Since the film was announced, fans have speculated that something in Days of Future Past must trigger the events of Apocalypse. If the upcoming film does in fact follow the 1995 comic series Age of Apocalypse, then there is only one likely outcome: the death of Charles Xavier. Oh don't threat moviegoers, Patrick Stewart will not be biting the bullet. James McAvoy on the other hand, well...it doesn't look good for him.
This requires some explanation. In the series Age of Apocalypse, a mutant goes back in time to kill Magneto. However, instead of killing Magneto, the mutant kills Charles Xavier. With no Prof.X to lead the X-Men, the world takes a different path and the ancient mutant known as Apocalypse rises to power.
Now this may not come true, but until I see the film, I cannot see anyone but Past Xavier meeting an untimely demise. It is the only option that makes any sense, well at this given time. We will just see what Bryan Singer has in store for the X-Men when Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23rd.
