The Film Exhibit of the Museum of Modern Art

I envy the citizens of New York City. When they have a museum like the Museum of Modern, or better known as MOMA, how can I not be envious? You might be wondering why?Well  it's not just because it is one of the top 20 museums  in the US. It is not even because there are over 150,00 different pieces of work in the museum. No, the reason why I'm jealous is because they have the movie section.

The museums feature over 22,000 films; with 4 million film stills. To say that the exhibit has variety of movies is an understatement. MOMA features several movie stills; from modern classics such as The Dark Knight and The Lord of the Rings, to cult hits like The Big Lebowski, to even foreign films such as Xiau Wu. There are millions of film prints to see at this museum; and while the exhibit might not capture all of movie history, there is still plenty to see. (head here to see the full gallery)

So if you are in the New York City area and are a movie fan; I suggest heading to the MOMA to get a good look at the film exhibit. I'll be jealous, that's for sure.
