Project Almanac Review: Jumping Through Time Is Quite Bland!

Over the years, found footage films have come in many forms. Usually this genre deals in the world of horror, but found footage has found its way into other types such as comedy, superhero and even sci-fi. The latest is a cased point of being a sci-fi movie as Project Almanac brings the concept of time travel to this sub genre. The film has interesting history behind it. Having three different titles before Project Almanac, the film was slated to hit theaters last winter. However, things changed and the movie was pushed back to this year. While the idea is interesting, could Project Almanac bring something new to found footage films, or was this movie better lost in the fabric of time?

Project Almanac follows five friends who discover a time machine in protagonist David's basement. After putting it together, the five use the invention to reap the benefits of their lives. However, use of the machine leads to problem in David's life and he must fix the mistakes he has created in his timeline.

Penguins of Madagascar Review: Three High Ones!

In 2005, moviegoers met a group of zoo creature who found themselves in Madagascar. Madagascar has been one of Dreamworks Animation's most successful franchises thanks to its entertaining demeanor and its cast of characters. While the films centered on Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman, the characters that stole every time were the Penguins. These four characters proved that are more then flightless birds as they use their covert mentality lead to intense and hilarious sequences in the Madagascar movies. Now these four set off on their biggest adventure yet as the Penguins star in their very own spin-off. Penguins of Madagascar follows in the footsteps of Puss in Boots by giving giving these supporting characters center stage . Yet could the Penguins deliver in a solo film or are these birds better off as supporting characters?

Penguins of Madagascar features the team of Skipper, Kolwalski, Rico and Private as they find themselves centered in a villain's plan for revenge. While trying to stop the villainous octopus Dave (John Malcovich), the penguins have to team up with Agent Classified (Benedict Cumberbatch) and the North Wind to stop this eight armed menace.

Interstellar Review: A Space Odyssey

If there is one filmmaker that can capture the attention of moviegoers everywhere, it is none other then Christopher Nolan. In the past decade, this filmmaker has provided audiences some of the most compelling blockbuster such as Inception and The Dark Knight Trilogy. Now, Nolan takes his latest film to the stars as kicking off this season of movies is Interstellar. Originally slated to be a Steven Spielberg project, Nolan decided to helm this sci-fi flick after Spielberg moved to other projects. What followed was a film surrounded in mystery and excitement; but is Interstellar another winner for the acclaimed director?

Interstellar takes place in a not so distant future and centers on former pilot Cooper (Matthew McConaughey). As the Earth faces its own destruction, Cooper is enlisted by NASA to charter an unknown galaxy in the hopes to find a new home for the human race. However, with many obstacles in their way, can the crew of the endurance complete their mission before its to late?
