Captain America Civil War Review: Marvel's Latest Blockbuster is Overpowered and Dynamic

It would not be the start of the summer season if a superhero blockbuster was not starting things off. This trend as seen many heroes take center stage for this season's opening month, but none may be as prominent as films of Marvel Studios which has started May with massive blockbusters such as The Avengers. This year things are a little different as the stakes for the Marvel Cinematic Universe are raised for the start of the Studio's Phase 3. Continuing this year's motif of heroes fighting heroes is the long anticipated third installment to the Captain America film series-Captain America: Civil War. Once again directed by the Russo Bros, Civil War is loosely based on the popular comic story in 2005 which pitted Captain America against fellow Avenger: Iron Man. The new movie follows the footsteps of its source by placing the two iconic heroes on different sides; and with appearances from heroes both old and new to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this was a summer blockbuster that was hard not to be excited for. So is Civil War the next hit for Marvel Studios or is this installment too overpowered with it heroics?

The story of Captain America: Civil War follows the First Avenger: Steve Rogers (Chris Evans); who now leads a new team of heroes.  After a mission goes wrong, the governments of the world seek to control the Avengers by turning into an asset. It does not help matters that Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and a handful of Avengers are eager to sign with the government which creates a wedge between Capt and his teammates. To make matters worse  Steve's best friend, Bucky (Sebastian Stan), becomes the prime suspect of a bombing which makes him a target for the government, Stark and a vengeful Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman). This leads to Capt and teammate Sam Wilson (Anthony  Mackie) to help Bucky escape his pursuers which solidifies the rift between Rogers and Stark that leads to an all out battle between heroes.

Michael Keaton rumored for Villain Role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Who Should He Play?

With Captain America: Civil War just week's away, it is no surprise that we hearing more and more about the debut of Spider-Man. The friendly neighborhood hero will be making his first appearance in the MCU in the upcoming summer blockbuster, but it will not be long for Spider-Man to make his return to the silver screen. Next summer the wall crawler will be getting his own solo adventure in the newly christened Spider-Man: Homecoming. While I do find the film's title questionable, it does not sway my excitement for the film. It is more than likely that more news on Spider-Man: Homecoming will be revealed this summer, but that is not to say that reports for the movie are not hitting the web already. The film's cast continues to revealed as along with Tom Holland and Marisa Tomei, the upcoming movie has added singer/actress Zendaya as well as Grand Budapest Hotel star: Tony Revolori, have been added to the ever growing ensemble. However the news that caught my attention was last week's rumor that stated that a famous superhero actor might be taking up the role of film's villain.

While nothing has been confirmed, rumors suggest that Michael Keaton could be taking up the role as the antagonist to this new Spider-Man film. Several reports suggest that film's villain could be Adrian Toomes, aka the Vulture, which would suggest that Keaton is up for that particular role; but again nothing has been confirmed. Before going any further let us get the elephant in the room. As many moviegoers know, Michael Keaton is famous for his role as the Dark Knight in 1989's Batman. So seeing this former cape crusader in another famous superhero property could come off as a little strange. Yet other actors like Chris Evans, and Spider-Man's own JK Simmons, are known for staring in other superhero movies and that has not stop them from working on other blockbusters in this genre. So if Michael Keaton is confirmed for the villain role in Spider-Man: Homecoming then the casting will only help to establish the film's cast. However if this casting is true, then who should Keaton play?

Spider-Man and his Amazing Friend?

If you are like me then you probably want to know more about Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Last year it was revealed that Spider-Man would be heading to the MCU and his first appearance would be in the 2016 summer flick- Captain America: Civil War. So far information on the character's debut has been limited; but then again this is no shock. Marvel is likely keeping everything on Spider-Man close to the hip and all content for the character will not be released until May 6th. This move makes sense but it doesn't help to ease the excitement to see this new interpretation on the Wall Crawler. However there is some new information for Spidey's direction for Captain America: Civil War. It turns out that Spider-Man will be making a friend in the upcoming film; but who will it be. 5 Fights to See in Captain America: Civil War

The battle lines have been drawn for Captain America: Civil War. For a while we have known that the next Captain America movie would take elements from the famous Marvel story as Captain America finds himself against his fellow Avenger and friend Iron Man. Last week, a promotional image for the film revealed which characters would be on the side of Captain America and Iron Man. According to the image, Captain America's team consists of Falcon, Winter Soldier, Agent 13, Hawkeye and Ant-Man; while team Iron Man features Black Widow, War Machine, Vision and Black Panther. This confirmation features several surprises, like Black Widow being on Iron Man's side, and I am sure there will be more on the way. Yet just by looking at this image, I can already imagine the fights that could happen in Civil War. A fight between superheroes is not uncommon to see in the movies as the Marvel films have already pitted the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Hulk against one another. However with the magnitude of Civil War, this concept could taken to a whole new level. So which fights are a must see in Civil War? There is indeed a variety to choose from, but in this case, I have selected five fights that I hope to see in the upcoming film. Note that these match ups are pure speculation and that this about the fight itself and not the outcome. With that said here are the five battles I would like to see in Captain America: Civil War.
