Guardians of the Galaxy Hit The Web
If you have been online at all in the past week, you no doubt have seen the new trailer for Marvel’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy. Tim already did two articles on this one, so I won’t spend too much time on this one. But I can’t go without saying that I really liked what this trailer showed, and can’t wait to see the film later this summer.
The Young Fantastic Four
Another news story that Tim has already covered was the casting of upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. The long rumored Michael B. Jordan is indeed playing Johnny Storm. Playing his sister is Kate Mara as Susan Storm. Rounding out the rest of the cast is Miles Teller as Reed Richards and Jamie Bell as the ever loving blue eyed Thing. This is a great cast for a movie, but I question how young this cast is. Sure, most of these actors are in their late 20s and 30s, but they mostly look in their young 20s. But this is a very talented crew, so if anyone can pull it off, it would be them.
Jai Courtney is Kyle Reese
Moving on to news that hasn't already been covered on this site, we have more news on the upcoming Terminator reboot/sequel/spin off/whatever their calling it. Yes it seems that Jai Courtney is going to be playing Kyle Reese in the film. I’m not that familiar with Courtney as an actor, having only seen him in that unholy abomination that was the last Die Hard, so I can’t judge him as an actor, so if you are familiar with him let me know what you think of him being cast in this role in the comments below.
The Raid Get Americanized
If your one of those people who hate remakes, you may want to skip this story. Yes it seems that Sony Pictures is in talks to have Expendables 3 director Patrick Hughes to direct an American remake of Indonesian martial arts film The Raid: Redemption, whose sequel is due out later this summer. If you haven’t seen the original, go out and buy the DVD now. Bad dubbing aside, it’s easily one of the best action of the last 10 years. Further reports are showing that Liam and Chris Hemsworth are being eyed by the studio. While I very much doubt it will come close to matching the level of the original, I am very curious what this team of actors and director could bring to the big screens.
Space Jam 2?!
In our final story of the week, it seems Warner Bros has decided to now is finally the time to move forward on the sequel nobody asked for Space Jam 2. Now Space Jam is one of those movies that people my aged loved as a kid, only to watch years later and realize how bad it is. So I’m not sure why WB would choice to make another, as I would have thought the ship for this had sailed a long time ago. Current rumor is that LeBron James is being eyed to starred, but LeBron has denied these reports.
That’s all for this week folks. Feel free to share your thoughts on any of these stories, and have a good week. Until next time.
